honestly, i'm pretty chill. don't be a dick, communicate when you're inactive, and try to be a decent human and we'll probably be fine.
more specifically, here's what i need from you. it's not much.
1. do not argue. with anyone. don't do it. if you're rude, i'll just ban you. i don't care how incredible of a writer you are. this is a fun, safe place. don't talk about politics. don't hate on someone's religion. just use common sense.
2. we don't have a word count here but you should be aiming for about 150 words, at least. i don't want to see one-liners, but i don't want you to feel the need to type up some kronk-level bullshit just because you haven't met the minimum word count.
3. post once a week per character that you have. to be honest i'm not going to check every week to see if you've met your requirement but if you aren't active, especially as a canon, you may lose your canon claim without warning. your content will never be deleted and you will be able to access it through the archives.
4. read the plot. it affects canons and explains how vampires and shifters function here. you'll be kind of lost if you don't read it. it's not long, and it's not complicated. please do not try to argue to change the plot. if you don't like it, that's okay! you should look for a site that's not au. ADDITIONALLY, if you make a nonhuman character, you must read the species guide for the species you're making. we do not allow children of the moon or hybrids.
5. while i will be looking for mature members with an intermediate skill level, proboards does not allow graphic mature scenes to be written out. i don't care what you plot out but you have to keep it pg-13 on this forum. you can imply sex or drugs here but anything graphic must be faded to black. as a general rule, if you're not sure if it's okay, don't do it.
1. there is currently no limit or ratio requirement on characters. bans may be put into place at any time. for example, female shifters are rare and not many will be allowed.
2. the use of face claims is required, though you are not required to use the actors from the movies for canons. please note, however, that any face you use to represent a member of the Quileute tribe must be able to pass for native american. use this link if you need help finding a face claim. your face claim must be at least 18 years old. that's not my rule, it's proboards. characters may be a bit younger. your face claim's irl age must be reasonable for the character's age. my general rule is +/- 7 years, but i'm not going to even check how old your face claim is unless it really doesn't seem to fit. of course, i will keep into account how aging works for supernatural creatures.
3. original characters are encouraged, however original members of canon clans or packs will be limited. if your original character's bio relies on a particular plot with a canon character, you must have permission from the member writing that canon and a staff member before being accepted. staff will double check with appropriate members before accepting your app. original characters may not be directly biologically related to canon characters (no long-lost siblings. cousins are fine).
4. you may choose to start your own clan/pack. just indicate that you're doing so in your app. additionally, please include the clan/pack's species (animal form if shifters) and place of origin. if your character is the alpha of a pack or the leader of a clan, you must indicate so. if you are starting your own pack, you are registering a pack into our stats and OPENING THAT PACK to potential future members (you may not turn members away from your pack). HOWEVER if you're joining a pack and you want your character to have been there before the date of your acceptance, you MUST speak with the leader of the pack. this is because if your character is not new to the pack, you are affecting the pack's history. otherwise, it is assumed that your character has only recently joined. this rule does not apply to canon shifters. if you are JOINING a shifter pack, be sure that you have the right kind of shifter for that pack. if you are JOINING a clan, you must contact the clan's leader first. this is because canonly, shifters do not choose to be part of a pack. being in a clan, however, is not involuntary and will require plotting on your part.
5. you may not make up your own species. this is twilight, au or not, and so the only species that exist here are humans, vampires, and shifters (shifters may be an animal other than a wolf, but only one type of shifter may be in each pack). quileutes must be wolves-- it is part of their history. despite the existence of them in twilight, there are no hybrids or children of the moon here (see plot).
6. you may use canons from other books/movies/tv shows on this forum. HOWEVER, they must be modified to fit within the bounds of the twilight canon. for example, i'm okay with you bringing niklaus mikaelson from the vampire diaries over here but you may not write him with the additional abilities that being an original vampire grants him in that series.
